
Christine Witzmann - Background:
I am a German State Examined
Translator. I graduated from the Institute
for Foreign Languages and International Studies at the University of
Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany. During my college years I expanded my English language skills by
spending one year studying at Elmira College in New York State. I
also studied at the Language Institute Lenguaviva
in Seville, Spain, to improve my
Spanish language skills. After becoming certified as a translator
for German and English, with Spanish as a second language, I worked
for a large translation agency in New York City. For several years, I
was working as a free-lance translator from my base on
Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In the year of 2001, we moved to Anchorage, Alaska.
Recent projects include:
•
Proofreading and editing manuals and brochures pertaining to
the automotive industry for a major international automobile producer.
•
Translation of various travel documents and a Website for a large
tour operator in New England.
• Transcription and/or translation of genealogical documents (such as
documents written in the old German writing).
• Translating various documents pertaining to Advertising & Marketing,
Business & Personal Correspondence for translation agencies and private clients.
•
Working as a tour director and interpreter for German speaking
tourists
• Translating documents related to tourism and
healthcare from Spanish into German for a translation agency in Spain.
